Final Year Project
Project Title
Mycelium Network Optimization in the Context of Karachi's Networks
Description
An inter-disciplinary project (CS/Bio) exploring the similarity between Physarum polycephalum (slime mold) and Pleurotus ostreatus (Oyster Mushroom). Our objective is to analyze the potential of fungal computers by comparing the characteristics of mushroom mycelium (about which little has been studied and published) to the more widely known and studied slime mold. We aim to do this by replicating an experiment where Physarum networks were compared to Tokyo's rail networks. In our endeavour, we will be growing and comparing mycelium networks to Karachi's road networks.
